About Me

I am a self-taught artist who lives in Beckenham. Some 30 years ago I discovered the transformative power of art through watercolour painting as a means of navigating grief.

With the help of generous mentors who guided me on the way, not just in technique but in confidence, my artistic journey has evolved into a playful exploration of abstraction, mixed media, textile work and collages.

In my figurative work, I seek to immerse viewers in a scene through colour, light and texture.

Meanwhile, in my abstract work, I strive to convey a concept or evoke emotion through form and movement, allowing viewers to feel rather than see.

Joining the SE20 Art Group in 2022 has been instrumental in giving me the confidence to exhibit my work.
