About Me

I am a self-taught artist who lives in Beckenham. Some 30 years ago I discovered the transformative power of art through watercolour painting as a means of navigating grief.​

 

With the help of generous mentors who guided me on the way, not just in technique but in confidence, my artistic journey has evolved into a playful exploration of abstraction, mixed media, textile work and collages.​

 

In my figurative work, I seek to immerse viewers in a scene through colour, light and texture.​  Meanwhile, in my abstract work, I strive to convey a concept or evoke emotion through form and movement, allowing viewers to feel rather than see. ​

 

Joining the SE20 Art Group in 2022 has been instrumental in giving me the confidence to exhibit my work.
